Dice and dice games date all the way back to the Crusades, but modern craps is just about 100 years old. Modern craps come about from the 12th Century Anglo game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the birth of the game, however Hazard is said to have been created by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s presumed that Sir William’s knights played Hazard through a siege on the fortification Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortification’s name.
Early French settlers imported the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when expelled by the British, the French headed down south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns.
